I began my working life as a stage manager; a fantastic job which took me to repertory theatres around the country and eventually led me to Coventry, to work at the Belgrade Theatre. I stayed for many happy years, moving afterwards into arts administration, alongside starting a sideline career as a freelance events manager. Over the years I moved into working with, and supporting, creative companies and individuals, both in their own enterprises and in many wide-ranging educational programmes in schools all across the West Midlands. In 2012 I joined Coventry University and now project manage the Lanchester Interactive Archive, as well as managing community outreach and events for the Disruptive Media Learning Lab, and teaching undergraduate event and sport management students. I love the practical, hands on aspects of the work, as well as building my knowledge of all things Lanchester. I’m almost ready to have Fred Lanchester as my specialist subject in Mastermind, and love that every day I find new things out about the man and his work.
