We enjoyed taking part of in our first ever Heritage Open Days this year alongside the wealth of heritage Coventry city has to offer. Balloons and bunting set the scene and the LIA space saw a substantial amount of visitors over the four day event. Many visiting for the first time were impressed by how much information we’d squeezed into what appears to be quite a small space, and promised to return with family and friends. The Lego activities were a hit with kids (and adults!) and it was great to see people of all ages trying our augmented reality and getting behind the wheel of our Lanchester car. Some visitors even bought along their own Lanchester stories which we’re always keen to hear more of! If you have ever driven or perhaps even used to own a Lanchester do get in the touch – we love to hear all things Lanchester.
We also had our Lanchester historian and expert Chris Clark in pride of place at the Coventry Transport Museum HOD Classic Car show on Saturday. Chris was stationed in pride of place right next to the museum entrance with his beautiful 1953 Lanchester Leda dch. Equipped with our Pop Up exhibition and augmented reality tablets Chris had a great day talking all things Lanchester and spreading the word about the archive.
We’re looking forward to next year already!
